Plane is equipped with the basics (Mode C Transponder and NAV/COM Radio). Plane is kept in hangar at MQJ (Indianapolis Regional Airport, previously known as Mount Comfort Airport). I've estimated that it's cheaper than renting if you fly at least 18 hours per year. Not to mention that you will have the advantage of always flying the same plane and knowing its maintenance schedule and history. Although there are 15 owners, only a few of them are active at any given time. Fixed monthly fees of $45 won't break the bank and costs less than most people's TV service. Hourly operating cost fluctuates based on cost of fuel (presently about $60/hr wet based on an average fuel cost of about $6/gallon for 100LL). The fees are designed to have funds in account for planned maintenance (annual inspections and major overhauls). This plane is great for someone wanting to get their Private Pilot's license, for a pilot wanting to build hours going towards their Commercial or CFI ticket, or anyone that just enjoys having access to a fun 2 person airplane for early morning or sunset scenic flights, evening hamburger runs or weekend pancake fly-ins.
