This aircraft is a former Navy R4D-5. Bureau No. 17135. The last military service was assignment to the Naval Arctic Research Laboratory at Point Barrow, Alaska. Aircraft was converted by Northern Air Cargo in 1982 to DC-3C configuration and operated by various FAR Part 135 operators until 2002. All Part 135 records are complete and most components have good times remaining.

The aircraft has been undergoing the an extensive IRAN (Inspect and Repair as Necessary inspection).
The airframe has been given a thorough corrosion control program: all surface corrosion has been removed, the surface prepped with acid etch and alodyne, and primed with epoxy primer. Internal surfaces had been additionally treated with LPS-3, or, CorrosionX inhibitors. The engine cowlings are overhauled- the elevators recovered, and both engines have new hoses and overhauled exhaust. It will be a good, sound airframe with the expectancy of reliable operation.
