| Description | DC-3 C Douglas C/N 12331 22,000 TT Complete FAR 135 records This aircraft is a former Navy R4D-5. Bureau No. 17135. The last military service was assignment to the Naval Arctic Research Laboratory at Point Barrow, Alaska. Aircraft was converted by Northern Air Cargo in 1982 to DC-3C configuration and operated by various FAR Part 135 operators until 2002. All Part 135 records are complete and most components have good times remaining. | Airframe / Inspection Status | Current The aircraft has been undergoing the an extensive IRAN (Inspect and Repair as Necessary inspection). The airframe has been given a thorough corrosion control program: all surface corrosion has been removed, the surface prepped with acid etch and alodyne, and primed with epoxy primer. Internal surfaces had been additionally treated with LPS-3, or, CorrosionX inhibitors. The engine cowlings are overhauled- the elevators recovered, and both engines have new hoses and overhauled exhaust. It will be a good, sound airframe with the expectancy of reliable operation. |
